Commissioners Float to Non-Existent Airport; No Aid for Existing River Locks Opening for Rec Boats

So, ummmm, what exactly are Armstrong County Commissioners doing to help open Allegheny River Locks 6, 7, 8 & 9 for recreational boaters? Oh, that’s right, the locks already exist.

Armstrong revives long dormant airport authority

Armstrong County now has an airport authority even though it doesn’t have an airport or plan to open one. [emphasis added]

The county commissioners appointed six people to the Armstrong County Airport Authority on Thursday. Commissioner Bob Bower, who is a licensed pilot, said the move was a preemptive strike in the event the county decides to build an airport. The authority will meet twice a year to discuss aviation-based issues.
